Genworth Financial, Inc. announces that it has named Timothy Herr as senior vice president, Brokerage General Agency Distribution.

Herr, 54, will be part of Genworth's Distribution and Marketing Sales Leadership Team. He joins Genworth with more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Most recently Herr was president and founder of Preferred Strategic Partners, LLC, a consulting firm that focused on facilitating strategic alliances in the financial services industry. Before that, he held several senior management positions with the AXA Insurance Companies, including AXA's Equitable Life Insurance Company, US Financial Insurance Company, MONY Group, and AXA Partners.

Prior to AXA, Herr was a consultant with Ceres Group and EVP and chief marketing officer with American Chambers Life Insurance Company. Herr began his career with the Mutual of Omaha Companies where he held positions in several areas, including distribution and reinsurance.

Herr is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Iowa.
